Mayor John Dalipe Friday, January 24, signs Ordinance 695 institutionalizing the drug-free workplace policy in the local government of Zamboanga and appropriating funds for its implementation.
At the same time, the mayor, in the presence of Vice Mayor Josephine Pareja, Councilor El King Omaga and representatives from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)- City Office, National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF-9) and other agencies affixed his signature on Ordinance 696 establishing the Zamboanga City Muslim Cemetery, creating a Muslim Cemetery section and appropriating funds and for other purposes.
Two other ordinances landmark ordinances were also signed – Ordinance 693 which provides for a comprehensive policy on the prevention and control of vector-borne diseases in the city, creating for this purpose the City Anti-Vector Borne Diseases Task Force and Ordinance 695, institutionalizing the Livelihood Assistance for Barangay Micro and Small Business Enterprises.
The ordinances were declared urgent by the mayor and were enacted by the Sangguniang Panlungsod on January 8, 2025.
