Westmincom welcomes Aussie visitor

Captain Emma McDonald-Kerr, the Australian Defense Attache, restated Australia’s dedication to backing the Philippine military, specifically the Westmincom Mindanao Command, in their efforts to maintain peace and safeguard national sovereignty and integrity.

According to a statement by Westmincom on Tuesday, July 23, McDonald-Kerr made this declaration while visiting Camp Navarro, the location of the Westmincom headquarters in Calarian, Zamboanga City, on Monday, July 22.

McDonald-Kerr was joined by personnel from the Australia Defence Force Task Force 12 during her visit to the Westmincom headquarters.

Brigadier General Taharudin Ampatuan, Westmincom’s deputy commander for internal defense operations and the staff officers of the command, warmly welcomed the McDonald-Kerr and her party.

The Westmincom said the purpose of McDonald-Kerr’s visit is to engage with their US counterparts based at Camp Navarro and the Westmincom leadership.

The meeting centered around exchanging information on shared topics of interest, as reported by Westmincom.

Ampatuan expressed gratitude and support on behalf of Lieutenant General William Gonzales, the commander of Westmincom, towards the Australian Defense Force and the Australian government during the meeting.

Ampatuan remarked that this was an opportune occasion to enhance our ties as we strive together for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
