Severe Tropical Storm Carina and the intensified Southwest Monsoon led to the closure of multiple roads in Zamboanga City and Benguet.

In a travel advisory released on Monday, the Department of Public Works and Highways reported that landslides and rockfalls resulted in the closure of a portion of the Bypass Road in Barangay Malagutay, Zamboanga, and restricted passage to light vehicles only at a specific section of Kennon Road in Sitio Klondykes, Camp 1, Tuba, Benguet.

The advisory mentioned that the DPWH Zamboanga City District Engineering Office Quick Response Team had set up warning signs and barricades and started clearing operations on the affected road segment.

As per the 11 p.m. cyclone bulletin issued by PAGASA on Monday, the expected heavy rainfall could lead to flooding and rain-triggered landslides in various parts of the country.

Signal number 1 has been hoisted over Batanes, the eastern part of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gattaran, Baggao, Peñablanca, Lal-Lo, Gonzaga) including the eastern section of Babuyan Islands (Camiguin Is., Babuyan Is.), and the northeastern part of Isabela (Divilacan, Palanan, Maconacon).
