NIA UNVEILS IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR 60 FARMERS IN CAMPO UNO, LABUAN

Mayor John Dalipe joins officials of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA)-9 Tuesday, October 15, in unveiling the Labuan Communal Irrigation System (CIS) that will benefit some 60 farmer-members of the Irrigators’ Association in the area.

Costing P1.5 million, the project involves the 3.14-kilometer pipe installation with service area covering 30 hectares. The project was funded and undertaken by NIA and is intended to boost agricultural productivity and sustainability in sitio Campo Uno, Labuan.

Mayor Dalipe thanked the NIA for the project and for always supporting and assisting the farmers by ensuring water security and enhancing the livelihood of local farmers. He likewise reaffirmed his commitment to the agriculture sector citing the numerous projects and programs that the Dalipe administration is undertaking.

The project was turned over to the Campo Uno, Labuan Irrigators Association led by Amador Gumidam.

Present during the turnover ceremony were other city officials and representatives from NIA led by Regional Manager Engr. June Nathaniel Plaza and Zambasulta RSO Acting Manager Engr. Wilson Cabrales, and other concerned agencies, and Labuan barangay officials. (details and photos: April Joy Araneta)
