65 DOGS, CATS SERVED IN REGULAR OCVET’S LOW-COST KAPON ACTIVITY

City Government of Zamboanga City

The low cost spay and neuter services for cats and dogs remains to be a regular activity of the Office of the City Veterinarian in line with its campaign for responsible pet ownership.

For its neutering services last October 17, a total of 65 cats and dogs were catered with 45 clients served.

Spaying is the surgical removal of the ovaries and uterus in a female animal while neutering is the surgical removal of a male animal’s testicles – both of which are standard veterinary procedures that deliver numerous health and behavioral benefits and at the same time help reduce unwanted animal population.

The activity is conducted every month. Interested pet owners may register their pets in advance at the City Pound located at Malasiga Drive, barangay San Roque. Post-surgical medication and supplies will be the responsibility of the pet owners. (CMO-PIO) (photo credits: OCVET)
