PWDs Demand Action: Midterm Elections Offer Hope for Change

By: Henry Salac

As the 2025 Midterm National and Local Elections approach, the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) sector is calling for concrete action, not just vague promises. With the future of Children with Special Needs hanging in the balance, PWD leaders, parents, and advocates are urging their community to actively participate in the elections.

The PWD Sector can’t afford to sit on the sidelines anymore, this election is a critical opportunity to demand real change for our sector. They need leaders who will listen to our concerns, not just turn a blind eye and a deaf ear.

The PWD sector is calling for continued support for existing initiatives that have benefited their community, while demanding new policies that address the unique challenges faced by children with special needs. They are urging voters to hold candidates accountable for their promises and to support those who have a proven track record of advocating for PWD rights.

The Sector need to elect leaders who understand their needs and who are committed to creating a more inclusive society. Their children deserve a future where they have access to quality education, healthcare, and opportunities to thrive.

The PWD sector is mobilizing its community to campaign for change. They are urging their members to register to vote, to research candidates’ platforms, and to hold town hall meetings to discuss their priorities. They believe that by working together, they can make a difference in the upcoming elections.

They are not asking for handouts, they are asking for the opportunity to contribute to our society and to live fulfilling lives. They believe that this election is a turning point for our sector, and they are determined to make their voices heard.
