Members of the diplomatic corps join Mayor John Dalipe, Majority Leader and District II Cong. Mannix Dalipe and other city officials in the Wow Sardinas, a sardine-eating spectacle, Sunday, October 6 at the R.T. Lim Boulevard.

Preceded by the vibrant Regatta de Zamboanga, the Wow Sardinas is a mainstay in the annual Zamboanga Hermosa Festival and affirms the city’s title as the Sardines Capital of the Philippines.

Every year, the event draws thousands of visitors who partake of sardines with biscuits and water and other stuff laid in makeshift tables set up in the entire lane of the R.T. Lim Boulevard.

Mayor Dalipe thanked the sardines companies that participated in this year’s Wow Sardinas, as he reaffirmed his full support to the sardines industry in the city.

The Regatta and Wow Sardinas were among the highlights of day 8 of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival 2024, which officially kicked off September 28.

The activities lead to October 12, the feast day of Nuestra Senora La Virgen del Pilar, the city’s patron saint.
