The Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ), through the External Affairs and Institutional Development Centre (EAIDC) Community Extension Services (CES) and the Safety, Health, and Environment Department (SHED) joins in the annual celebration of International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day, on September 21, 2024 (Saturday) from 5:00 AM – 9:00 AM at Caragasan Beach, West Coastal Road, Zamboanga City.
International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day is observed on the third Saturday of September every year in recognition of the worldwide coastal clean-up celebration, as per Proclamation No. 470 Series of 2003. This initiative will be participated in by UZ employees and UZ student volunteers, along with other agencies and organizations. The result of the cleanup drive will be published on the UZ website and submitted to the International Agency for Ocean Conservancy through the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Philippines Volunteer Group.
