Zamboanga Partners Unite for Renewable Energy Development

In a move towards sustainable development, critical stakeholders in the Zamboanga Peninsula have signed a memorandum of cooperation to study and develop renewable energy sources. This initiative is spearheaded by the Regional Development Council in Zamboanga Peninsula (RDC 9) in collaboration with energy partners and various government agencies.

Notable figures including Zamboanga City Mayor John Dalipe, Mindanao Development Authority Secretary Leo Magno, Hydrogen de France Business Development Officer Rene Villarete, Zamboanga City Special Economic Zone and Freeport Authority Chairperson Raul Regondola, and Zamcelco General Manager Gannymede Tiu signed the memorandum. This unified effort marks a significant step towards achieving energy security and promoting sustainable development in the region.

During the signing ceremony, Mayor John Dalipe emphasized the critical importance of this initiative. “The energy security we are about to build here will serve as the foundation for our region’s prosperous and sustainable future,” he said. The involvement of Hydrogen de France, represented by Business Development Officer Rene Villarete, highlights the international interest and expertise being brought into the project. Hydrogen de France is known for its cutting-edge hydrogen energy solutions, which could be crucial in diversifying the region’s energy mix.

Secretary Leo Magno of the Mindanao Development Authority also strongly supported the initiative, noting the potential for renewable energy to drive economic growth and environmental sustainability in Mindanao.
