A collaborative police team apprehended a kidnapping suspect who was among the wanted individuals during a law enforcement mission in Lanao del Sur province, according to police authorities on Sunday, July 14.
The suspect, known as alias Jab and residing in Gacap village, Piagapo town in the province, was apprehended by the police led by Police Colonel Robert Daculan, the director of Lanao del Sur police. The arrest took place through the execution of a warrant on Thursday, July 11, in Pawak village, Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.
Daculan mentioned that Jab has an active arrest warrant for the charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention with no bail set, and is identified as the number one most sought-after individual in Marantao, Lanao del Sur.
He stated that a collaborative tracker unit managed to apprehend Jab after pinpointing his location with careful intelligence gathering and coordination over a two-month period in surrounding areas.
He also mentioned that Jab was taken to the documentation at Marantao municipal police station to await the return of his arrest warrant to the court that issued it.
Police Brigadier General Prexy Tanggawohn, the acting director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, directed the joint tracker team’s persistent endeavors in finding and apprehending the suspect involved in the kidnapping.
Tanggawohn highlighted that the operation demonstrated how cooperation and involvement between law enforcement and the community can make crime prevention and resolution more achievable.
