An arrest was made in relation to a suspected criminal group leader who was allegedly responsible for a string of shooting incidents and the illicit drug trade in Zamboanga City. During a buy-bust operation, police detained alias “Boy” and his companion, alias “Rizal.” “Jabal,” another suspect, was slain for allegedly fighting back. Ammunition, a.45 caliber handgun, and suspected shabu valued at approximately P870,400 were taken from the suspects. Drug-related charges have already been brought against the two, who are currently in custody. Police claimed that the two had previously been detained and imprisoned for a comparable offense. They were freed, but they supposedly went back to their illicit ways.

“This operation demonstrates ZCPO’s unwavering dedication to stopping drug trafficking and violent crime. Colonel Kimberly Molitas, the chief of the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), stated that the arrest of the two, who were both repeat offenders, “underlines the critical need for continuous robust law enforcement and active community participation.”
