DISMISSED. The Office of the Ombudsman dismisses elected Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama from service after he was found guilty of nepotism and grave misconduct. The order came out on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, the day Rama, who was preventively suspended, filed his certificate of candidacy for mayor before the local Commission on Elections office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Suspended Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, recently dismissed by the Office of the Ombudsman over nepotism charges, has petitioned the Supreme Court (SC) to block the Commission on Elections (Comelec) from enforcing his dismissal and disqualification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Rama filed a petition for certiorari and prohibition against the Comelec on Monday, Oct. 7, 2024.<\/p>\n
